Abstract

The number of both “specialised” studies and jobs and international agreements and projects has clearly increased over the past years. This has led to a growing interest in foreign languages. Given our globalised setting, the present article first contextualises and marks out the area of the so-called Lenguas de Especialidad (LESP) and Lenguas para Fines Específicos (LFE), before dealing with the concept and the evolution of the so-called Currículo de Español para Fines Específicos (EFE), and finally and to a broader extent develops different proposals to prepare an academic and professional syllabus in EFE in engineering for undergraduates, engineering consulances professionals and industrial/managerial professionals.
