Abstract

As part of the teaching of Spanish as a language for specific purposes (LSP), this article presents an experiment carried out with students of the MIMHR (International Management of the Hotel and
Restaurant Management) University of Nanterre. The main goal was to integrate in the teaching the
discourse of tourism professionals while presenting current issues in this sector at the same time. The
most adequate resource to do so was tourism journals on the Internet. The article first deals with the
language of tourism as a language for specific purposes and the journals of the tourism sector, then
explains the different steps of the experiment (student group profile, context, etc...) and finally the results
are exposed. This article aims at providing thus new tools and practical applications to all those that teach
SSP and want to integrate the professional world to their teaching practice in the classroom.
